reflective window tints in home

Hi all ,does anyone have experience of reflective window tints in there home ?
We would like tints for privacy as we don't like blinds net curtains etc. and also to prevent excessive glare on TV screen BUT don't want to end up with a dark room .
Any views welcome .

Our patio doors face onto a car park and I don't like blinds almost closed for privacy so we bought some cheap privacy film from lidls to try.
It has actually worked :-) bit of a pain to put on but we are pleased with results.
The outside has a mirrored finish and you can't see in even when your right at the door(when the inside light is on you CAN see in).
Sun no longer shines on tv either.Downside of the film is that it has darkened the room a bit.
Don't know if dearer film would cause this or not.

There's some fitted to a house in our village, it just looks odd IMHO, makes me wonder if they are growing something
  • Ask a company that sells the window films to send you a sample then you will know if its the right thing for you or not.
  • Will ask for a sample

You don't need it to be reflective- normal "privacy film" isn't reflective and will (IMHO of course) look rather better.
