children's pretend makeup

Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows where I can buy the pretend plastic makeup that I had in the late 70s early 80s

My niece hzs sensitive skin and is just a baby really so I am looking for the pretend plastic lipsticks and eye shadows that I had each year as a stocking filler. I have spent another Saturday looking for it around town but cant find it anywhere

thanks

*sorry if this is on the wrong forum as I couldnt decide where it should be

    Ebay?

Otherwise you could make your own make up compacts for eyeshadow, blusher etc by emptying real ones and using nail varnish to fill the little pans.

I know the stuff you mean OP - but I can't find any now. There are loads of things like this in poundshops, supermarkets etc -

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Girls-1st-Compact-Make-Up-Set/dp/B009ZIUKK8/ref=sr_1_14?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1378581873&sr=1-14&keywords=uk+pretend+make-up

or you could have a look in stationery aisles/stores for erasers/sharpeners/pens etc that look like make-up items? My DD used to have stationery that looked like lipstick etc.

haha, will pass on that one - cant believe we were actually given these as children. I come from a family of smokers on my mam's side so quite often sat puffing away on a sweetie cigarette or chocolate ones at Christmas that came wrapped in rice paper and a proper cigarette type box. My dad used to hit the roof when we sat there puffing away, I used to think he was really miserable at the time when he used to take them off us

what were those sticks made from? I remember they changed them to "candy sticks" from sweetie cigarettes, I really liked the taste of them, wonder if you still get candy sticks?

Our corner shop sells them. I think Tesco does too. I bought some recently to use as signposts for a themed birthday cake I made. The packet has Transformers on it, we still have the leftovers.

Those choccy cigars though, those were gorgeous! Do they still make those, does anyone know?

OP I'm not clear on whether you mean toys made of plastic, or the sort of 'tint' make-up that Avon used to sell for children, that was sort of pink tinted vaseline as far as I recall? EDIT - I've re-read, and you were asking about plastic toys. I think Poundland is worth a look.

The sweet cigarettes used to have red coloured tips, they were removed once they were changed to candy sticks. You could also get chocolate cigars. In France a few years back you could still get a bag of confectionery like it, haven't seen them on more recent trips though.

I think the OP means pretend make-up in the way you get pretend play food. It's just plastic and not a potion of any sort. I haven't seen stuff like that for years. My own daughter is 10 and I don't even remember her having any.

my local shop sells them as candy sticks - my GS loves them! mainly because they come with a temp tattoo! but he eats them with relish! they are like a 'rock' type sweet. they still put the red end on though!
I haven't seen the chocolate ones in years! if I remember rightly they came in brightly coloured paper packets - where the candy sticks come in card boxes.

my oldest son also loved them - and he doesn't smoke as an adult. the other son didn't like them - and he does smoke!
