Sounds totally cheap I know, but it's my birthday in just under 2 weeks and I'm hoping to go out for a meal (or maybe my lovely OH will pay!), but we are trying so hard to save money that I don't want anything expensive.

So my question is, does anyone know if there are places where you can get something free if you say it's your birthday?!

Not very money saving, but usually TGI's give you free desserts or free drinks for up to 8 people, I usually get an email around about 2/3 weeks before my birthday.

I think Frankie and Benny's have a birthday club you can sign up on line and I think they give a free meal to the birthday person.

Rather than looking for deals associated with your birthday you'll probably find bigger savings using restaurant vouchers which you can print off and take with you.

MSE have a very useful guide featuring lots of chain restaurants, most of which should have branches in Leeds.

Thanks guys, these have all been so helpful. Signed up for Las Iguanas as that place is delicious, but going to look into the other places as options too (just incase I don't receive a voucher)!

Cheapest birthday ever. Got 20 quids of Vue vouchers for that day too, using my doubled up Nectar points. Ha, such a skinflint.

I normally get sent a voucher by cafe rouge for a bottle of fizz, although I've never used it

Vintage Inns and Chef & Brewer give you a bottle of fizz on your birthday if you sign up for their newsletters (V Inns, at least 4 people have to order a main course)
Strada give you a bottle of prosecco if you spend £30.

If you sign up at Yo Sushi you usually get emailed a discount offer for use in the fortnight around your birthday.
