Hi all,
Reluctantly I have to scrap my 1st car. Has anyone used a good, reputable company in SW/S London that that they would recommend?
Thank you

Is it driveable? Take off anything in demand and sell it on ebay then take it to the local scrapmetal merchants yourself.
If not just call the local breakers yard, Or advertise on ebay starting at the scrap price.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

All of the above plus ensure you get an end of life cert if scrapping it or at the very least make sure you fill in the relevant section of the v5 and send it back to the DVLA asap.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
What's the car? If it's a highish spec model, you may be able to sell some easily removed bits on eBay for others to upgrade their cars. Search the eBay car parts section for your car (e.g. "Corsa") and look for completed items that have sold. That'll tell you what, if anything, is desirable.0

Thanks for the responses - yes it's drivable & has a new exhaust but I can't afford to run it anymore, and as it's my first car I've scratched it to high heaven, needs 2 new tyres & the front bumper fixed. So can't sell it, thanks so much for the tips about eBay! Someone might want the exhaust! Local brokers yard has a reputation of not paying a fair price.2015 win - Snoopy and Charlie Brown preview screening tickets2016 wins - £50 Real People magazine; wedding show tickets; £200 That's Life! magazine2022 win - £100 Selfridges voucher from Diet CokeThanks to all the posters :beer:0

Scrap value of a Civic is unlikely to be more than £100 or so - even though it's scratched, you'd almost certainly get more than that by selling it on eBay or Gumtree. I once got £180 for a manky old Civic that had no MoT because the guy wanted to put the VTEC engine into his Mini.
What age is it, and is there any MoT on the car?0 -
Just put it on ebay for spares or repair. It is pretty straight forward and it will sell. You would probably get about £140 at the scrap yard or you could try http://www.cartakeback.com/ who will come and collect it and give you about £120. It's all very simple.0
