What user profile are you talking about? Is it your MSE one? If so, how have you managed to log on to start this thread?

see the bottom of the speedup sticky thread, or read the manual, it depends on the model

you'll need one cd for a linux boot disc, one usb hard disk big enough to hold any data, and possibly one cd/dvd for your windows disc

Boot into safe mode, and access the administrator profile (if it's not visible, you may need to activate it using something like Hiren's boot CD).

Copy the files from your user profile into a separate folder called Backup, then delete your entire user folder.

Click start, run and type regedit, then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/Profile List.

One of the entries that drops down from here will be longer, and titled (numbersandletters.bak. Right click and delete it.

Then reboot, and copy your files back across
