Returning a heavy item - Amazon

Options
This could be in the wrong place but I need to return an item to a seller from Amazon. The problem I have is that it weighs approx 20kg and just wanted advice on any couriers that would collect and deliver it with it being so heavy?

Thank you :)

I would suggest using CityLink via https://www.myparceldelivery.com. It will cost around £12 depending on how much compensation you want and its size. They will collect it the next working day after you request it and will deliver it the day after that. Its all tracked and they will even send you an e-mail or text when its been delivered. The CityLink driver in our area is very friendly and happy to come in the house to carry heavier parcels.
  • Thanks for replying mrcol1000, I will look into that. Some of the companies I had looked at were looking at charging over £150.

This suggests that it might be very large and beyond the normal size limits. Can you give us the dimensions of your parcel?
  • The size of the item is 34" x 35" x 24" if that helps.

  • Try interparcel. They give you lots of different couriers to choose from. Always been reliable for me.
  • I'll give them as try aswell, thank you

That is quite large with a volumetric weight of 90kg I think which will exceed the limits of most cheap services. Have a look through the parcel thread here

Start at the end and look for suggestions for large or oversize parcels.
  • I'm guessing that if you ordered something from Amazon and need to return it, then it was delivered to you. So one courier who does deal with parcels that size - is the one who delivered it to you, so they'd be a good place to start.

Worth a try, but Amazon with the volumes they are sending will have rates a fraction of those ordinary mortals pay and possibly without regard to normal size and weight limits.
