Googlemail - inbox tabs

Hi

Does anyone know if the tabs on the new style googlemail inbox cant be turned off and everything go into one inbox?

I've got three tabs on my inbox, I didn't have a choice to accept them as they just appeared about a month ago and they are driving me crackers!

I've tried unticking them in the configure inbox setting but then it seems the emails in those tabs disappear completely.

All I want is one inbox with no tabs and all emails to go into one area that is more manageable and less likely to lead to me missing emails.

Settings > configure inbox > deselect all categories to go back to your old inbox.

Thank you - does that mean all emails will go into my inbox and none will be lost because there isn't a tab for them to drop into?
