Hi,
I took out a Barclaycard in 2008, with a limit in the region of £2000.
I made sure that I remained within this limit, then to discover around a year later that my limit had been reduced to £1,200.
Since then, I have been continuously paying off this debt, and included within this is a £12 monthly charge for being over their limit.
As this change was unexpected and not the agreement I had originally signed up to, is it correct that I have been paying this monthly charge when the change was enforced?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

If they reduced the limit below your balance then that is wrong. However it isn't good that you are only querying this now as it has cos thou hundreds of pounds.
You first have to complain to barclaycard, and can then appeal to the regulator if you haven't heard from them in eight weeks or disagree with their decision.
They need to put you back in the position you would have been, so you're primarily looking at refund of charges, any interest you incurred that was a result of their mistake and a small compensation for your time and hassle. You would also want them to correct your credit file. This is all assuming you are successful in your complaint of course.0
