Worth fixing for 2 years?

My current fixed price for dual fuel is coming to an end so I'm looking to change plan. I'm currently with E.On and will be staying with them as there's relatively little to be saved by moving but can't decide whether it's worth fixing for 2 years rather than 1 year? Fixing for 2 years would cost ~£50 a year extra. Are energy prices likely to raise significantly over the next 2 years?

Any evidence of this?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Whether it is better to fix for one year or two largely depends on gas wholesale prices next summer. No one can predict those. With a general election in 2015 energy price rises coming directly from government policy are unlikely in 2014 in my opinion.0

...make the real decision based on your attitude to risk. If price surety's more important than the very cheapest prices, fix for a longer period...0
