hi all looking for new tyres for my focus, need 2 new but the car came with all cheap chinese rubbish which i want to bin before winter.
i am looking at spending 200-250 roughly, but if the deals are there for something slightly over which will be worth the extra spend i dont mind that much, had continental and also kumho on previous car and the conti's but up with everything i threw at them in terms of driving conditions, kumho were decent but noisy
anyone got any ideas as to good deals?

You can get good tyres for much less than £200 to £250. If you like Continentals then these are £81.34 each fitted (assuming this is the right speed and load rating for you):

I've used this website before, but I'm not saying they are definitely the cheapest, look around.
You might find tyre test reviews like the following helpful:

Hunt around that site for more test results and reviews. FWIW the last tyres I bought were Dunlop Sort BluResponse which I'm perfectly happy with. I chose these for their combination of performance and fuel economy.
Edit: I note you thought the Kumhos you had were noisy. In case you don't know, the relatively new European tyre label now gives noise info. which allows you to compare this before buying.0 -
Have a look at Falken. Bloody good tyres for the cash. Been running them for 2 years on a pair of high performance jags and they have been as good as any tyres i've ever had.0

I got some new boots from tyre-shopper last week and was pleased.
The Avons would fit your budget. I got the Bridgestone T001s but, in my case, the price difference was only a few ££££.
There is cashback available from TCB and, even if you are not a member there is a 5% discount code on there.0 -
I've got Bridgestone T001s on my front wheels as it happens, and the Dunlop Sport BluResponse tyres I mentioned on the rear. I'm happy with the Bridgestones but the Dunlops perform better in every performance test I've seen (and have better tyre label ratings), so I'd suggest that the only reason to go for the Bridgestones over the Dunlops would be if they are significantly cheaper. Which I don't think they are?0

I would be buying the Contis as in post #4.0

Uniroyal RainExpert Uniroyal Rain Expert - 195/60 R15 88H are available in this size for £44.20 each add £2.99 delivery and about £10 fitting. Search Camskill in google.
I know a lot of people who love this tyre as an all weather tyre.
They do Conti's for £57 + £2.99 +fitting £100 -
Just in case this confuses the OP I'll mention that these tyres are 'summer' tyres and not 'all season' tyres (which is a good thing). That is a good price if the 88H spec. is what the OP wants. Not the best performing tyres in this size though to be honest, both the Continental and Dunlop tyres mentioned above seem to offer better performance, including wet braking:Uniroyal RainExpert Uniroyal Rain Expert - 195/60 R15 88H are available in this size for £44.20 each add £2.99 delivery and about £10 fitting. The Uniroyals also have higher rolling resistance and therefore worse fuel economy.
Just having a nose and Camskill does have some good prices though

True enough; however I have noticed that the Rain Experts also happen to be pretty good in snow as well (not as good as real winter tyres obviously, but nowhere near as bad as Continentals in particular which are pretty much useless in the white stuff -- far far worse than even the typical Chinese cheapie!).0
