All you seem to have done is tell as many people that you're making a mountain out of a molehill.

Seems like attention seeking to me, and possibly against Forum rules?

I don't see why anyone would have an issue with it, unless they had something to hide? They aren't threatening you, merely stating the facts. If you don't send the documents they require, what they say MAY happen in the future. If they didn't tell you this could happen, but you found out later that it had, no doubt you would be complaining about that so they can't win!

A lot of insurance sites have a tick box or similar, that you have to check to say that what you have submitted is true, and if found not to be, then your insurance could be terminated etc. Would you consider this a threat as well?

  • After filling in the normal details and paying in full for the insurance, the "welcome" e-mail received seconds later demands copies of driving licences, and also written proof of NCD - in spite of having been given my current insurer and policy number in order to verify my no claims during the online application.

Most insurers check these things electronically, and if they are going to ask customers to jump through extra hoops, it should be made clear before buying.

I don't know why they say they want to see your driving licence - if you are unlicenced then you are uninsured anyway.

However I don't see why you are getting your knickers in a twist about providing proof of no claims.... I've always had to send in (by post) my previous year's proof of no claims bonus certificate, I've never, ever had it electronically verified.

I've also had to do exactly the same for both of my parents each year, and my fiance.

Your insurer always provides a proof of no claims certificate with your renewal documents so it's not as if you need to order, or pay for one - unless you have lost it, of course, in which case it's your problem not theirs!

Some companies won't even accept electronic proof of NCB...
