Just a heads up to everyone that next weekend is Heritage Open Days at many places across the UK:
http://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/
Some are traditional English Heritage/National Trust places that won't be charging admission. Other sites are sites that aren't normally open to the public at all except on this weekend. You may have to book some sites.
I've guided for various sites over the years from Drop Redoubt and Grand Staircase in Dover to Garrison Point Fort in Sheerness.
This year I'll be helping out at Barons Cave in Reigate on Saturday where if you're lucky you'll get guided by me and get a free fumble in a dark part of the cave.

Me and the cook will be taking full advantage of the Heritage Open Days with a trip up to Lancaster and Morecambe.
Lots of history in the area, and places like Lancaster Castle, and the Winter Gardens in Morecambe are grand places to wander round.
And next Sunday (15th) is the Bradford to Morecambe Historical Vehicle Run. Hope the sun's shining on the prom...
