Bright start here but it as started to cloud over now. We have had very little rain here and we really do need a good deluge for the garden.
DD has friends coming over at 2pm so I need to get a few bits done before hand. Need to ice two apple braids that I made last night.
DH is out in the garden building a giant outdoor kerplunk for them, so that sounds like some fun if it stays dry, but we have a gazebo so that is going up just in case.
DH has just called me for coffee so BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

...NotjustLaura I too had a shock when I stepped on the scales this morning, time to cut out the puddings!...
Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one! I've had a stressful week and have been comfort bingeing and then using it all as an excuse to over-eat generally. I've lost 30lbs on an NHS programme (which has been absolutely excellent) so it's time to stop the rot now and get back on track. I shall be eating a lot less bread and sweet 'treats'.Hard_Up_Hester wrote: »...Second panic was one of the wheels making a funny tap tap noise. I'm feeling good so far today, no pain or discomfort in my stomach, just the wobbly legs which I'm getting used to. ...
Predictive text strikes again, methinks - but it did make me giggle! And I'm glad you're feeling a bit better Hester.
My day's not going quite to plan. My tummy's still upset due to my eating habits over the past few days so the trip into town for magazine became a quick run to Mr S in my mother's car which I'll probably take back tomorrow. I've watered the seedlings but wimped out on washing the greenhouse roof. And I looked at the lettuces and decided to leave them a bit longer before thinning. I've been to the library and the pharmacy and am going to spend the rest of the day chilling and being kind to my digestion!Household: Laura + William-cat

Morning all!
Hairy dieters masala chicken for dinner tonight, so it is skinned, flattened out, and marinating in the fridge. Sounds like a footy team has moved into the street, next door are having their driveway relaid! I will be most popular shortly as they are parked across my drive and I need to go out, so they will have to find somewhere else to abandon their van.
My friend was at the hospital yesterday, and things are not looking so good, she saw her CT scan pics, and described it as "not looking good", she will have seen plenty of them over the years as she was a nurse too. They haven't given her a diagnosis yet, but want to scan her pelvis "to look for spread", and cut into her throat to get a camera down into her chest properly, couldn't get the scope down before as her oxygen levels were too low to sedate her deeply enough. This year has been one disaster after another, flipping heck!
Anyways, off to get dressed and out, have a good day all, and happy holidays LW.
Molly, thinking about you and yours, hope all is well!RIP Iain

Morning all,
sunny here so far, fingers crossed it stays that way as the WM is on and will be refilled as soon as it's empty!
Am taking the BF's mum to 'afternoon tea' at a hotel in town organised through my work. Tasty treats and teapot cocktails mmmmm
Starts at 2 so I've a few hours to whizz round the flat and tidy up. Been invited up to the 'in laws' for tea and x factor too.
Out of interest, I've seen some of you change the name of various SM (ie Ald!), why is this??
Hugs and well wishes to all who need them.

Morning all,
nothing to report from me today. Hubby is back at work getting this school ready for Monday. I don't know what time he'll be back tonight. He was back just before 10 last night and in bed for 11. I don't know how he does it.:(This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon all,
I was up early this morning to start loading things on ebay. It has been a long time since I was a seller, but DD has asked me to help her as they work odd hours and don't have a handy post office.
Went to Sainsbugs for the shopping as they were kind enough to send me some £8 off a £40 shop vouchers - well, Mr T doesn't give me nice discounts like that.
The washing is out on the line but it rained for a bit a couple of hours ago, so I don't know if it will dry properly even though it is sunny again.
have a great day xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

DH has just come in from a trip on the train to the next town to watch his godsons band at a mini festival.
DGD due to arrive shortly so this is a brief postHave managed to take DiL2bs new maternity jeans up for her while Lylapup had a sleep.DNiece has left a dress she wants altering for her hol in Ibiza next week.It has long sleeves she wants chopping off but its stretchy stuff and I dont know if it'll work-can but try.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Jools. It must be very frightening to have so much knowledge about bodies in general and then to have something wrong with one's own.lynsayjane wrote: »...Out of interest, I've seen some of you change the name of various SM (ie Ald!), why is this??...
I believe it's so their name being mentioned frequently here doesn't benefit them in search engine rankings but I may be wrong.Hard_Up_Hester wrote: »NJLaura, not predictive text, just my warped sense of humour, We have 21 children under 10 living in the 9 houses nearest to me....
Aaaah! That's a whole lot of children, Hester. I thought you meant 'chip'
Feeling better this afternoon. Have contacted a couple of community gardening to projects to see if I can be used and educated. Put thermals on because I'm cold even with the heating on (I know it's only September!) and then watched Star Trek: Insurrection while knitting (a SANDS shawl) and spilled coffee on knitting. Fortunately it's very washable! Early dinner tonight (HM Pacific Pie with Rice) followed by further knitting in front of the goggle box.Household: Laura + William-cat
