This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all!
Feeling much better emotionally today although my tummy's complaining about my recent eating habits. I stepped on the scales this morning, got a fright and realised I need to get back to counting my calories and going to the gym.
It's a dreich day here in Glasgow and I'm expecting slugs when I go and tend my seedlings. Ugh!
Today's tasks:- Buy gardening mag in town
- Go to library on way home
- Pick up prescription on way home
- Water seedlings
- Clean greenhouse roof (if dry)
- Thin Arctic Lettuce seedlings
- Take ironing to ironing lady
Household: Laura + William-cat

Morning everyone,
NotjustLaura I too had a shock when I stepped on the scales this morning, time to cut out the puddings!
Molly Hope that your dad gets better soon and that your recovery is speedy too.
LW Have a great holiday.
Camelot What terrible news.
HH, Hilstep Hugs.
Off to a netball tournament with DD2 today, looking forward to it, it seems ages since I have watched her play.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Good morning everyone
Horrible weather here and I think the dreaded tumble drier will be coming out. My new resolution is to save up for a Lakeland airer and never use the electricity eater again.
Need to do some bits of shopping this morning. DH is training all weekend so have plans for some cooking and some relaxation.
I still can't get my act together and just feel sort of numb about the job situation. I need to get sorted for Monday and ask some questions to see if I want to apply for one of the new positions.
DD said her finger felt much better for the first time yesterday which is a huge relief. She is back at the clinic and to physio on Tuesday.
Molly - healing wishes for your dad and you too
Camelot - I am so sorry to hear about your colleague's son
LW - I hope you and Mr Wolf have a wonderful holiday
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hi all,
It's finally stopped raining here in Newcastle!
Today I need to tidy and clean the kitchen, empty the dishwasher and put some dirty dishes in it, do some washing, go to Costco and then go to BF's mum's for tea tonight.
Also I want to do some crafting today. Got my August Crafty Creatives box 2 weeks ago and haven't had the time to do anything with it yet!
I also just bought a Kumihimo plate, and I'm trying to get to grips with it. It seems a bit more fiddly than the disc, but we'll see.
Hope everyone has a good day.the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Good morning
Sunshine and blue skies hereDoesn't feel too warm at moment. About to go jump in the shower before I head off to walk the dog over the fields. then its back for another coffee before heading off to food shop. Found an advert for local farm shop which sells local produce. The nearest Ald* is now a 10 mile round trip so am not sure it's worth the petrol cost so it might be Sainsb*gs and maybe farm shop for fresh produce. We shall see.
Got my FIL and BIL coming down to visit today too so rest of time will be spent crisis cleaning and making cups of tea for them.
Had better dash and get my butt into gear.
Camelot fingers crossed for house sale x
LW enjoy your hols with Mr LW x
Hugs and spoons all round xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning everyone
The rain's finally stopped - been over 24 hours! So glad DH did the lawns at the start of the week, they won't dry out for days yet, even without any more rain. :rotfl:
Doing food shop this morning, may have DGS after lunch, but still hoping to go to a farm shop or two this afternoon. Shopping more than ever in Ald! and other places due to ever-rising prices, same as everyone on here! Hoping to bake this weekend for snacks and pack-ups, have spent far too much on ready made things this week.
Lots of hugs to those in need - seem to be a lot of poorlies and peeps with bad news right now - look after yourselves and families!

Morning All
Bitsy - So glad you are in your new home and the children are settled at school.
TTFTM - Hope DDs hand continues to improve.
Raining here, has been all night, Cheapskate I am glad I cut the grass the other day too. Washing will go on the airers. Had to light the fire last night so the washing from yesterday finished drying overnight. Did manage to get DDs bedding dried on the line and back on the bed!
Not sure what to do today, working at 5 so may just sort out some stuff from the garage and shed.
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Sunny here this morning, WM chugging away I'm hoping to get some of it dry on the line.
Fish fed and hubby dropped at work, yep, that's right I drove the car this morning, first time in almost 8 weeks. I was a bit worried to start with as I thought I couldn't see, then hubby cleaned the windscreen for me and that helped enormously. Second panic was one of the wheels making a funny tap tap noise. Stopped the car, checked the wheels, pulled away again and the noise stopped, there must have been a stone or small child stuck in the tread that worked it's way out. I was most impressed as the car started first time and as it is a P reg and been sitting on the drive all that time that was pretty good going.
I'm feeling good so far today, no pain or discomfort in my stomach, just the wobbly legs which I'm getting used to. I'm seriously considering getting a zimmer frame to enable me to return to work.
Molly, hugs for you and your parents.
Time I made myself some breakfast.
Have a good day everyone.

Moring all,
Been raining all night here but stopped now, will risk some washing on the line for a while. Need to drop dd at work this morning then home for a good tidy downstairs.
OH and I then need to finish sanding the ceiling in the room of doom which I have sadly neglected for the last 2 days, back to it today though !
Dinner is stilton stuffed chicken breast with wedges and peas, will prepare it this morning.
Will try and get to see my dad at lunchtime have not been able to go all week as he has been poorly. so hope to see him today.
Have good days all xx0 -
Good Morning,
A bright and sunny but chilly start this morning. Actually have got my proper slippers on now. Time to put the flip flops away methinks.
DS has gone to his Saturday job and DH is off to watch his team play away today, so a bit of peace for me.
I aim to clean up and have been meaning to make a yoga mat bag for ages so I may have a go at that later.
LW - have a fab holiday and the rest of you lovely people enjoy your Saturday!0
