I did an enquiry on "entitled to" and it said I would get £48 pw WTC
I went on to the WTC site and it told me I was entitled to £0
Circumstances
I work full time earning £29000
My OH is in receipt of Industrial Injury benefit £48 per week (30%)
In addition we own another house worth £100k which generates rent of £550 per month as income. We have £15k savings. We have a small BTL mortgage but own our own home outright.
We one child aged under 20 - 18 and away at University.
OH is on ESA (income based WRG) and receives £0 due to my income but it pays his NI.
We receive no other benefits

Hopefully the entitled to site is wrong and the WTC site is correct.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

You did something wrong on "entitled to", it's usually very accurate if you answer the questions correctly, but no way will you get WTC with above circumstances. The £29k salary alone is too high. And no CTC for a child at university.0

I went back and double checked. I think the issue is around the IIB. The entitled to asked about disability of OH and if he had IBB. The WTC didn't ask about IIB.
Not being funny but if we didn't have a house to rent out we would be seriously struggling. We have a small mortgage on our BTL (we inherited and bought out family) as we give our child money each month at uni0 -
Even on your salary alone you are way over the limit for WTC.0

£48 per week would imply an income of £12k per annum, no WTC if earning over £18k0

Thank you for your replies. I've tried again on entitled to and it's still telling me £48 per week if I put in IIB but if I exclude that then it says nothing! Very strange.
I was only trying to find out if we could get a reduction in council tax as I had guessed we would get nothing else but our council tax is costing us almost £200 per month now which I think is crazy and is one of the reasons why we are selling up to downsize.0 -
Are you sure it isn't just telling you you get the £48 IIB? Bit of a co-incidence it's telling you you get the exact same amount in WTC as you get in IIB! Try it with a much higher salary and see what the result it. WTC is tapered so will reduce if income increases.Thank you for your replies.
