Is USwitch impartial?
Had a cold call from Scottish Power, who claimed to be cheaper than my current supplier even though he didn't know who it is or what tariff I am on!
I said no thanks, I know I'm on the cheapest tariff as I check regular on USwitch. The Scottish Power chap claimed that USwitch is not impartial and companies pay USwitch to appear higher in the listings.
Is that right or was he telling me porkies?

Checked and my current supplier is still the cheapest both on USwitch and Martins Energy club. Awful how they can get away with telling people lies like thatHere I go again on my own....0 -

Think about it.
All the comparison sites list the tariffs by order of annual cost (based on your anticipated annaul consumption), and give details of the tariff that make up that annual cost.
How could any supplier giving a bung to a comparison site get themselves higher up the list, other than by reducing their tariff?
The only thing a bung does is allows you to switch to that company via the comparison site
(Some comparison sites allow you to filter by only those suppliers they can switch you to, so be careful not to enable that filter)

Just ask them what the actual cost for you will be, and then you'll be able to see how it compares.
...and you'll find where it sits on the comparison list, because they are all there (assuming it's a generally available tariff)0
