Morecambe Bay area

Options
My mother and father are proposing to take a short break up to seven nights in or around Morecambe during September.

Does anyone know of any suitable hotels which have parking facilities, en-suite bathroom, porterage and ideally a sea front location. They'd like either full board or dinner, bed, and breakfast.
As they are disabled they need a room which is easily accessible.
They would like 3* and upwards or a nice B&B which does evening meals too.

The iconic Midland Hotel in Morecambe which might not be the cheapest hotel in Morecambe but is the most iconic. It reopened several years ago after being closed for years. In its former days it hosted a lot of celebrities and has featured in an Agatha Christie. As I live near Morecambe there is no reason for me to stay there but I often go there for morning coffee. The hotel is directly on the seafront with no road between and there is a lift. I am not sure if it is a 3 or 4 star, think 4 star. If staying try to get a room that looks directly onto seafront and not facing back into Morecambe as the sunsets can be gorgeous as you stand on your little balcony watching the sun go down over the bay. The hotel has a car park and there are people to help guests with bags which I have noticed when I have visited for coffee.

Take a look at the Strathmore: Nice hotel, decent service, good food, all rooms accessible, parking and on the seafront. I believe one of the coach companies use them and there's an all inclusive deal (but not sure who. That'll be a reasonable price.

Midland is very expensive, though the views and food are excellent.

The Clarendon is lovely, again food is excellent. More a mid priced hotel, smaller with lovely staff. Seafront more to the west end of Morecambe.

Used to live there and visit once a year!

    +1
Shearings Holidays use The Strathmore, and if you book through them you might get a better deal than booking direct with the hotel...

Me and the missus stayed there on a Shearings mid-week break at the beginning of this year, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are well motivated and nothing's too much trouble, and the meals are excellent. Here's my review on TA...

I'm a Lancaster/Morecambe exile living in Pompey, and like to return to the area for a week or two every year. Next week 12-15 September is the national Heritage Open Weekend. Lots of places open their doors to the public for free. We're going up and staying at the Central Lancaster Travelodge, which is right in the middle of Lancaster. Not much good for the OP though as there's no parking.

    Off those the Midland.

Would suggest the other side of the bay and either Clare house or the grange hotel in grange over sands.

Hi Greenface. Looks like the Eidsforth is up For Sale...

I'll have a wander there next week and find out.

Kido - If your parents are going to the area for fresh air, beautiful scenery, and just using Morecambe as a base, then that's great. But the centre of Morecambe and the West End, especially inland from the prom are less than inspiring.
