Transferring Bank Account

Hi,

I recently transferred my main bank account to HSBC as I'm getting a mortgage from them. I had to transfer all my direct debits - the main one being for my amazon credit card. I was sent a letter by HSBC with the details of all my direct debits that would be transferred and that list included my credit card.

Today I got a letter saying the amazon credit card had attempted to draw money from my previous account and could not and so I had been charged £24.00 for the privilege.

I have contacted HSBC but they're not able to give me an answer as to why this has happened - someone will apparently get back to me.

Do I have any chance of seeing my £24 again? I can think of much better ways of spending it...

Thanks
