Do you know the person you're sending the money to?

Its very expensive and used by a lot of scammers.

Thanks so much for your reply,
I was going to send it to my daughter. I have read a few negative things about it re.scammers etc that's why I am a bit dubious about sending it...don't know much about it really.

    Why use Western Union anyway?

Bank Account, Yours to hers - Sort Code/Account No, it`s all you need.

Online is how i do it, instant transfer

    Another ditto from me.
Faster Payments. Less than two hours. Normally less than two seconds, in my experience.

Tommie it was my daughter who mentioned WU I had never heard of them until last night. You are right about skipping WU and going from my bank to hers.Problem is I need to use it via my credit card and not my debit card,so it means that I have to actually transfer from CC to my current account.
The amount I want to send is £100 which the WU calculated at £4.90 plus i'd have to pay £12 on top of that for cash withdrawal fees on the CC to put it into my current account.
Was thinking also of perhaps sending it via Postal Order. But I am just sort of exploring all avenues to find the cheapest method....which undoubtedly is sending none at all lol I know that Postal Orders are quite expensive. WU seemed to be the most straight forward and possibly the cheapest way of doing it but I am not sure if its a safe way.
If I was convinced it was safe id have no problem sending it this way.

Why not just send her £100 out of your current account?
