Ebay Fault?? Bidding against myself allowed!!!

I think what happens is that bids are supposed to go up in increments of say 20p. If your bid is only 19p higher than their max bid, it hasn't gone up a full increment. So when you increase your max bid it increases by the amount your bid was less than the increment.
If that makes any sense.
I think I read this on the Ebay boards, but I can't rememember the exact value of the increment used. In fact, I'm not even sure if that's a real word.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

That might make sense ...
The bid increments are:
£0.01 - £1.00 £0.05
£1.01 - £5.00 £0.20
£5.01 - £15.00 £0.50
£15.01 - £60.00 £1.00
£60.01 - £150.00 £2.00
£150.01 - £300.00 £5.00
£300.01 - £600.00 £10.00
£600.01 - £1,500.00 £20.00
£1,500.01 - £3,000.00 £50.00
and up £100.00
What you would need to do to confirm this is look at exactly what the other previous bids were after the auction has ended.
The £6.22 to £6.50 jump would mean the previous bid was £6.00
The £2.21 to £2.22 increase should equate to the earlier bid being £2.02There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Thanks to all who have added on this thread. It all seems to be clearer to me now (i think!) and about the next amount bid going up to the next increment makes sense. Anyway, in case youd like to know i won the item for £2.22 so im well pleased.0
