About to start claim

I am about to start my claim against barclays for £1700. However i originally did my ms excel interest calculations around 2 weeks ago so now the days since offence and interest calculated will have changed. When i open my charges calculations should this information automatically update itself or will i have to type out all my charges again to get new totals and interest

If you used Martin's online calculator, you will have to recalculate them all again, I'm afraid.

I don't know how good you are with Excel, but, if you replace today's date with the function =TODAY() it will update the date automatically each time you open the file.

You aren’t legally entitled to the 8% per year statutory interest on the charges unless it is awarded by a judge, but it can be used as a bargaining chip in any preliminary negotiations.

You will have to recalculate the interest again, if and when you file your court claim.

  • Is there a letter that i can send to my bank to offer them one last chance to pay up before i start court proceedings?

I suppose that would be the "Letter Before Action".
