"A new law - the Consumer Rights Directive - is putting a stop to pricey 0844, 0845 and 0871 customer helplines. But some companies will be let off the hook. We’re calling on the government to extend the ban to the travel industry and public sector. We also want the financial regulator to bring the finance industry into line. There shouldn’t be any exceptions - all costly customer helplines should be banned."

Customer service or complaint lines should be free call or standard landlines.
The Rubbish about using those numbers to give a centralised contact. I can phone a local number and get through to the head office in London.
Whilst off sick some time back i needed to phone the benefits line to see about council tax benefit. Seems the whole system moved over to 0845 numbers.
So i need to pay to tell them i have no money?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
