ukmums.tv

I just wanted to check that this site is completely kosher.

I've always thought it was absolutely fine and I've won from there a few times with no problems.

Recently I won an 'In the night garden' dvd which I was planning on giving to my nephews. Long story short - it turns out that they have outgrown that particular show and I ended up selling it on ebay.

The guy who bought it is now claiming it is a fake. I've asked him why he thinks that and am waiting for a reply. As far as I am concerned, I trust UKMums.tv to only deal with genuine merchandise. Am I being naïve?

What does your e-bay buyer want for being sold a "fake"?

If they want a refund I would get them to send it back to you first as they could be just lying!

I've ended up offering a refund upon return of the item. He wants to take it to an ebay dispute and I just don't have the time atm (my sister is in labour and I'm caring for her two younger kids!)

My suspicion is that he feels he has over-bidded for it as I did get more money than I expected for it. It's too much hassle.

Ask him to return, unopened, then refund (after testing) then resell.

I'd post this question in the ebay forum as they generally give the best advice.

Thing is, it's easier for him to open a dispute than going through the hassle of returning the item.

Even if he opens a dispute, he will be told to return it back to OP first.

It's actually better if he does open one, ebay have started noting when buyers are opening disputes frequently so if they're a serial-complainer their account will eventually get shut down.

yes - your dvd could be working fine so do not refund until you get it back! Though he could still send you back a fake which you originally did not send - I have heard of this sort of scam (where a buyer will say a dvd/item of jewellery is fake then send you a fake back just to get a refund and keep your genuine product!)

Actually, I seem to think that if Paypal/eBay think it is a counterfeit, they will ask that the item is destroyed and they be presented with proof of that.

OP, best to post in the eBay forum on here, lots of lovely helpers.
