There are a couple of Wetherspoons within walking distance of Chapel st. I think they do breakfast.

  • Head on up to Bold Street, there are a few on there, I like the one by the bombed out church (it is a landmark just ask a local to direct you) Sorry, can't remember the name but nice cafes for lazy breakfast up that way.

Try City Cafe! It's on Stanley Street, about a five minute walk from Chapel Street. The full English is just £3.95 at the weekend and there's plenty of other breakfast options (you can see the menu on the website). It's a really nice little cafe, friendly too, and the homemade cake is divine!

Poundcafe in St John's precinct. Just £1 for egg, bacon, beans and sausage and 25p for any item you wish to add on.
  • Leaf on Bold Street is lovely (possibly the place danandjens was referring to). It does tasty breakfasts and lots of nice teas and coffees. Not as cheap as poundcafe but worth a go.

I think you might mean Tabac. That's a boss little cafe, we were there super early when they had their delivery from a local farm of all the lovely sausages and black pudding.

  • Maggie Mays on Bold Street also!
  • Indeed, it was TABAC I was thinking of! Most of them are nice on Bold Street. Hope the OP had a cracking breakfast!
