I've just done a complete scan using avast antivirus but every time I get this error about something being corrupted, what can i do about this, I recently did a factory reset on my laptop as it was taking 12 mins to start up. It's fine now apart from this error could viruses be hiding inside here or something?

Blackadder: Yes it is.
Baldrick: Hmm... that's cunning.

Just found this on another site
"Hi there, I think I can help some. I believe the file you might be referring to is c:\dell\mediaexe\ondrvmed.zip I'm fairly sure this is the Dell System restore ... it is a very large archive file. your virus scanner is going through this file making sure there are no viruses or other nasty things there. If you don't want to scan this file, you can probably set your virus scanner to ignore archive files. However, this does leave your computer open to trojans and other things that come sneaking into your computer inside a zip file so I would just live with the extra time. I have the same thing happening to me but my virus scanner (AVG) is pretty good about telling me about what its doing. Personally, I have encountered trojan horses that come in zip files so I scan all files. It's a lot easier to prevent a virus or trojan attack than it is to heal your computer once it's been infected.
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Thanks - I have no issue with the time taken for the virus check as you say prevention is better than cure! However it looks like it isn't scanning this area so I'm not sure what to do
