New bathroom quote

Hi guys just after opinions really on a quote I have been given to renovate my bathroom, we have asked for quite a lot of work to be done, as follows:

Remove bath suites, tiles, skirting boards, shower enclosure and carpets

Overboard ceiling with 12.5 mm plasterboard, prepare and replaster entire bathroom.

Supply and fit new corner bath with mixer taps and shower head, close coupled toilet, hand basin and mono mixer tap, shower tray, new thermostatic shower and enclosure in same places.

All new down lighting supplied and fitted in ceiling

Supply and fit Lino up to £15m2

Remove radiator and supply and fit 1500mm tall towel rail on opposite wall

Supply tiles up to £10m2 and tile shower enclosure, basin splash back and bath splash back

Paint all walls

Supply fit and paint 4" skirting board

Provide skip

All for £8445

Now at first I thought wow that's a lot of money, but now I'm thinking its also a lot of work.

Any opinions? Is it a fair quote? I know I could do it cheaper using different trades, buying own suite etc, but for what I've asked for is the price right? The room is 10x8ft by the way

hard to tell without looking but around 5K should cover it unless the suite and tiles are top of the range then the cost will rise

    Extortionate

We use mid-high end materials. Ripping the room right back and the average price with £35 sqm tiles £6000-£9000

Don't know about extortionate, but on the face of it, it does look a bit high, even allowing for the fact there is both a bath and a shower enclosure in there. Is it a large bathroom?

So unseen, and not knowing what part of the UK you are, I would say probably on the high side?

Mind you, if it is for a palatial bathroom in central London, maybe not

Very similar job to what I had done and very similar price. Looks reasonable.

The bathroom is 10x8ft I guess that's average size, I'm in the south east by the way, the guy and his company are highly recommended, and the suite will be mid to high range stuff, the plastering that's there at the moment is blown in a few places which he has allowed for.

Mid to high end and he's only quoting £10 sqm for tiles? Decent vinyl is £30+

Sorry Andy what do you mean by vinyl? I assumed the tiles would be ceramic? I asked for Lino for the flooring

Mid range tiles are £30+ per sqm. £10 will get you end of line or bumpy whites

Lino/vinyl for the floor again will cost £30+ per sqm for a premium grade from polyflor etc
