Got builder building a conservatory. Glass three sides and wall the other.
Wall is brick then breeze blocks inside. Do we have to have this due to building regs?

Did you discuss the options with the builder?0

No, you could have double skin of brocks with insulation between, you could have used brick outer skin and then timber framed inner again with insulation.
But in general the brick and block is the most widely used combination. The blocks are lightweight to move, you use less blocks than bricks and they are cheaper and you can then plaster easier.
What do you have against blocks?0 -
Just had one built like this. brick outer, block inner and then the block plastered.
Did you want exposed brick? In which case tell the builder.
But if that was your thoughts, do have a think again, as it make the conservatory look like it was just stuck on rather than being part of the house. Much nicer to plaster everything.0 -

Mine is brick outer and block and plasterboard inside.
Much nicer finish inside than bare brick.

and we will never, ever return.0 -
Aren't conservatories exempt from building regs?0

Right/. So you need the block inner layer. Makes the wall awful thick - maybe I should have asked him this0
