Hi guys - I know you've all heard/read this countless times before but I would appreciate some support. Basically I got a PCN from ...should I say who? back in June. The car (I wasn't the driver) overstayed in a free car park by 45 minutes at 7.30pm on a Saturday night! Uusal "tariff" £40 now or £70 if you don't pay immediately. - I used the company's appeals form on the website and said it was unfair as was a free car park, other parking after 5pm locally is free so wouldn't be paying. Appeal rejected (no surprises!) and I have subsequently ignored. Letter arrived last week from Roxburghe - now a total amount due of £118. They want me to pay or name the driver........
I am inclined to ignore........
What do folks think?
Thanks so much

On their rejection did they give you a popla code or told you that you can appeal externally to them ? Or is this not England or Wales ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

In that case just ignore them, keeper liability or pofa 2012 doesn't apply there. Also they don't appear to know or care that a different legal system operates in ScotlandWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. You have told them you were driving??? Big, Big mistake. Absence of POFA gives you protection from having to declare who the driver is, but if you have told them, they can come after you, even in Scotland. I am assuming that the contravention was in Scotland?
However, as they have involved Roxburghe, then they probably are on the letter chain and give up scenario.0 -
No I haven't told them I was driving.....they never asked up until now. I obv displayed knowledge of the time of the "event" though :-(0

Just what ID did you give when you contacted them? You wrote I used the company's appeals form on the website and said it was unfair as was a free car park, other parking after 5pm locally is free so wouldn't be paying. and I assumed that you indicated who you were.
If you haven't given anything away, do nothing more as it would only make matters worse.0
