Has anyone used WW to do a repair successfully?!

I bought a KA that came with WW cover (silver, which includes the air con). Then recently my air con started playing up... I rang up WW, they told me to get the car diagnosed with a VAT registered garage and ask them to give them a call afterwards. I thought OK... so I did that and phoned around... what I found though puzzled me big time.

All the garages that I approached, e.g. Ford dealers, independent garages, Ford specialists, air con specialists, NONE of them were willing to deal with WW. They said, get it fixed with us, pay for it and claim the money back from WW.

That obviously is NOT the way WW works, and they insist that you should always get the garage to contact them directly regarding the claim. So that got me thinking could this be their clever tactic so they would never have to pay out because no garages would be willing to work with them in the first place...

So I would really like to find out whether anyone in the real world has actually succeeded in making a claim?!

  • If you haven't had the car long, take it back to the original dealer.
  • Shouldn't this be investigated by trading standards? Surely most people will not have any luck with making a claim and eventually give up and just pay to have the repairs done at own expense. If they knowingly sell something that would be next to impossible for the customers to make a claim, shouldn't that be put to a stop?!

It's the same with most aftermarket car warranties, they don't actually cover anything at all.... At least not anything that would ever go wrong and even with those parts they'd get out by blaming a part they didn't cover for causing the damage.
