Replacement Boiler

Hi
I recently has an engineer call to assess my need for a free replacement boiler. I receive pension credits and my boiler is over 10 years old.
The engineer informed me that as my boiler was working, I did not qualify for a free replacement boiler.
Is this true?
Does a boiler have to be broken in order to qualify?
Many Thanks

I hope it's right that it has to be broken otherwise that is a massive misuse of taxpayers money paying to replace a working boiler. It certainly won't "pay" for itself on energy / carbon reduction savings alone.

Virtually anything qualifies, even something fitted 'not to current standards' qualifies.

    - you see the person who removed your post as a Hitler
    - I see the person who removed your post as a protector of the unwary

There is no need to give advice in the twilight zone of offline PM's, what reasons would you have to encourage others to go out of sight, unless the purpose is to peddle warez, exert influence or escape scrutiny. Much better to continue to give your extensive free advice as you have done in the past, right here in the # numbers where you can inform and educate, that way everyone on MSE can benefit from your knowledge.
