How much use will your Xbox One get pre-Christmas?

Options
Just out of curiosity really;
I've pre-ordered an Xbox One as I want the Day One edition, however with GTA V out soon and several unopened 360 games (thanks to MSE/HUKD!) still to play I'm not sure I'm going to actually use it that much before Christmas.

Anyone else doing the same or am I mad for getting one on launch? My theory is that if I wait until Christmas then I may have to pay a premium to get hold of one.

Also, are people keeping hold of their 360's? My initial thought was to sell as soon as possible to try and maximise resale value but I still play original Black Ops Zombies / Forza 3/4 etc... so I may keep it for the foreseeable future.

Im keeping my 360 for the fact that Ive still got some games I still play on it plus I still haven't decided whether to stick the M$ or go for a PS4 ( looking at the launch titles for both Ive now started to lean towards Xbox 1 ) . Im not that bothered if I didnt get a console on launch day, plus im hoping if I wait till sometime next year I will have a more informed decision which 1 to get plus it might be cheaper.

OP I bet you wont be able to control yourself and you will just have to open it up and play on it. Id be tempted to do the same.
  • I am keeping my Xbox 360 and saving for the 1 but have preoredered 3 games (AC4, Watchdogs and Batman) and will be purchasing on release COD so I am more than happy to wait

You are completely !!!!ing insane. Buy the console when it has games, got over its teething problems, has servers that can handle the workload, had its price drop and yknow...is worth buying?

Or does nobody remember what happened last time.... or the time before that.... or before that.... or before that... need I go on?
  • My partner has preordered the Xbox One Day One Edition as well, I have already told him I want to keep the 360 and he has agreed, so many games we still want to complete on it!

We were going to sell our PS3 when we get the new xbox as we currently only use it to play blu-rays but for the money we will get for the console and 3 games we have for it, we might as well just keep it! One of the games we have for PS3 is still brand new/sealed (The Last Of Us)

Thats anothing point as well, im hoping by waiting that any teething problems ( if any ) with either console will be ironed out.

Assuming there will be teething problems. Both consoles are based on PC hardware, so very much tried and tested already.

Anyway, I'm keeping my PS3 to play GTAV. The PS4 should turn up at release and I'll use that for any future games.

Both are coming out with about 20 games on launch. There is at least 10 on the xbox that I'd happily play on day one.

The first xbox suffered the RROD after a couple of years but mine got replaced within a few weeks without much in the way of hassle. I wouldn't be expecting any price drop in the near future, certainly not this side of Christmas. £430 for the hours of use I will get is fine for me.
  • I'm keeping the 360 as my OH wants to play the the games she bought with the original kinect.

As for me.. i've got a week off to break the One in when it arrives on the 22nd of November :D
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!

off topic but zumu looks like it might be a scam, going by the amount of people on their facebook wanting to know where their payment is & talking about contacting watchdog/trading standards
