E-Reader which supports audio books

Does anyone know of an e-reader (apart from Kindle Fire) which supports audio books?

The venerable Sony PRS-505 was one of the few ebook readers that could also play mp3's (thus potentially audio books).

I'm not sure, but I vaguely remember another ereader that could read you your ebooks, however most modern ereaders tend to be very much dedicated devices with just the display and no audio (the kindle fire is really just a tablet computer tied in to the Kindle ecosystem and branding).

I would guess most tablets could act as both an ereader and audio book player with the right software, in the same manner as the Kindle Fire (but may be harder to get content onto/require a bit more knowledge as one of the things Amazon got right with the kindle range was the ability to easily buy content from them).

if you can get you hands on an *OLD* style kindle keyboard (Kindle 3) they could playback MP3's

I've got an old one but screen is damaged (been meaning to check out replacement screens for ages!)

Yes, I've got a Kindle 3 (keyboard) and it plays mp3s. It also reads books etc out to you if you wish, but the voice is robotic, a bit like Stephen Hawking. I don't know if other Kindle versions do that.
  • I have Sony PRS-505. this works well with MP3 and the sound quality is great.
