vision express wrong lenses

Hi
I was given my new glasses but vision express put the left prescription in the right and visa verse. They did correct this but to do this I had to leave work 4 hours early. there was no apology or 'we'll sort you out asap'. It was more a case of 'fussy customers' until it transpired it was their fault.
Anyway, the main question is, should I have asked for some recompense (I had to make up 4 hrs of lost work) in the form of either a partial refund or a discount of my next pair... or is that asking too much?

You could always ask, could you not have asked for a half day holiday.
But don't hold your breath.
Discount on yur next pair - I would be finding a new optician to be honest, how they can make such a basic mistake is beyond me.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Why did you have to leave work four hours early?0

Four hours? I'd be finding a nearer optician, not asking for discount on a return visit. Sounds like their attitude could have been better but mistakes happen and unless you can demonstrate you are seriously out of pocket by four hours wages I don't think there is a realistic 'claim' here.0

Specsavers mucked up and gave me the wrong left lens in my glasses. I got them fixed, a full refund, and was still entitled to my free pair.
No harm in complaining

Why did you have to leave work four hours early?
1 hour commute from work to optician near my home.
They needed 2 to 3 hours while the work was redone.
Hence 4 hours in total.
I think I'll write and ask for a discount on a future pair. Unless I forget/can't be bothered, which is probably what will happen!0
