obtaining a refund for goods brought abroad

Can anyone help? I bought something from a shop in Egypt and I am not happy with the quality, can I try to obtain a refund for the goods from the tour operator or is this illegal as they didn't charge me in the first place? Do I have to go either to the shop or try and do a charge back through my card supplier?

You need to take it up with the shop in the first instance. Certainly nothing to do with the tour operator and the credit card won't refund unless you can prove that there is a valid refund issue and the retailer won't honour it.0

Also why did you not inspect the item at the time that you bought it? seems more a case of buyers remorse?0
