You're not supposed to live on CTC.

Did you tell them prior to August 31st that your child is going to college or was it only today that you were able to inform them?

Reason I ask is that because if it was before they drop the child from the claim on the 31st then the system adds them again on the 1st September.

You do generally get a gap in payment though, there is a recorded message on their line at the moment about missing payments this week which says they will ressume by the next payment.

If you only told them today though that system would not apply so yes it could be the 16th but may be sooner.

It happened when my son went to college,we missed a week whilst they recalculated it and has just happened again with the twins going into FTE.

It is hard,we had a lot of upfront fees to pay to the college for kits and a locker,we don't qualify for help with transport as we are over the threshold in our area by just a little and the college increased the upfront fees by £25 with 3 days notice so it has been difficult and this time we knew what was coming and did our best to prepare, the first time we had no idea so it was a shock.

All you can do is try to rebudget in some way,i am not the best at these things but over on the old style board where I sometimes have a look they seem to make meals out of almost nothing so go over to that board and have a look through for some ideas,i hope it gets sorted for you soon.

The system often updates in a few days.
It might be worth calling Saturday before closing to see if your new payments are on the system.
They always say it will take longer to stop you calling.
