My car not involved in the accident - Could it be my fault?

No contact with your vehicle so their problem.
Its like when people swerve to avoid another car and crash, Its their own fault then.
Getting costs from the other party would be difficult if not impossible.
If your going to crash then make sure the person that caused it is included.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

That depends on the circumstances.
If you're behind them then yes. But what if they came straight out from the side?0 -
So the guy behind changed lane, pulling in front of someone, and got hit.
I don't care how slow you were going, or even if you stopped there to have a sandwich and read the paper, 100% that guy's fault for changing lanes without looking.
Strider's advice about sticking to the rightmost lane so you can have multiple loops around is worth noting, however.0 -

About 3 weeks ago, I was at a roundabout, the car a few cars in front managed to stall in the RH lane (car A) and roll to a stop half way around the roundabout, the car behind (car
slowed down, the car behind him (car C) leant on the horn, car B then pulled out to go around car A and nearly got wiped out by car D (who was speeding in the LH lane).
Car B was simply reacting to the impatience of car C, but would have been held at fault.
These things are not always so simple, it's the reason why insurance companies hate dealing with roundabout claims.
This scenario is very simple, car B is an idiot for not looking before performing a manoeuvre.0 -

Then if it was a case of crash into them or crash into someone innocent or into someone elses property then i would choose crash into them.
Ive spent a lot of time on the roads and seen all sorts. Some very stupid and agressive people out there.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

So you hit a car full of children rather than a hedge?
That's nice of you, but do you see it wouldn't be impossible to claim off them?0 -
Thanks goodness for that, I thought nobody was thinking of the children, Thread saved!! :jCaptain_Flack. wrote: »So you hit a car full of children rather than a hedge?
I've had two incidents on roundabouts over the years, first one, I pulled out, depressed the clutch to change to 2nd, bang, clutch cable snapped.
In neutral..coasted to a stop, waited until the traffic cleared, pushed it into 1st and cranked it hop skipping and jumping off the roundabout to safety.
Second time, pulled onto a roundabout, bang, front spring snapped and buried itself into the front tyre, ripped it to pieces.
Waited until the traffic cleared then coaxed it to safety.
It isn't always clear cut why people slow down (or stop). It is up to all drivers to pay attention so my vote is the guy changing lane behind you is entirely to blame.
I live in Bristol, I agree it is chaos, overtaking, undertaking, harsh braking, launch control away from lights, it is madness during the rush hours in any direction in Bristol.0
