Found the last payment that was made. Was actually to Clode funding and it was Sept 2009. This was the time I changed jobs and bank accounts so i'm thinking I just didnt transfer the direct debit over properly!
Its becomes statue barred in Sept 2015 then I assume?0 -

Yes, assuming you don't pay or acknowledge it in the meantime and providing the creditor/debt collector doesn't commence court action before then.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I want to pay it off (I do owe it after all) but not sure I will because of them putting the incorrect default date on it!
Am I right in thinking the default date should be the last day I paid towards this sum? So September 2009 not March 2013 as they have put.0 -

You could try asking or stipulate that they remove the default from your Credit File as a condition of the debt being settled?0 -

ICO guidance says 3-6 months after the payments have ceased (para 11).
Feel free to quote this document to them.0 -

The default date should be within 6 months of you last making a payment towards the debt.
If it is much later you can challenge, but in doing so you obviously are going to end up acknowledging the debt (for statute barred purposes).
You could perhaps offer to pay a reduced figure in full & final settlement of the debt but only after they have corrected the default date entry on your credit file.
Or you could even try to negotiate to get it removed entirely in return for paying - this is quite unlikely so get anything from them in writing first.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Would the OP be better off waiting for the 6 years (+ 6 months to be sure) to pass before contacting them to dispute the default?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
