Our goal is to post up information on work undertaken in the House of Commons that has a consumer focus but which may not be highlighted elsewhere. We encourage discussion and comments concerning the topic or content of the debate.
The debate will be streamed live on Parliament.tv http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=13719 (Silverlight or Windows Media Player required to stream TV)
Backbench Business Debate: High Cost Credit
Due to take place at c. 12.30pm on Thursday 5 September*
The motion for debate is:
That this House has considered high-cost credit.
What specific issues around Payday Loans would you want MPs to focus on?
Transcripts of proceedings in the House of Commons Chamber are available three hours after they happen in http://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/hansard/commons/todays-commons-debates/
*Following the conclusion of Questions to the Secretary of State for Women and Equalities. It may begin later if any Urgent Questions or Statements are granted on the day, as Parliamentary business is subject to change.

Hi Malcolmffc
Thank you very much for linking to the transcript - however this link is now out of date - we now have a link to the Hansard official record of the debate on High Cost Credit in case people are interested in seeing the arguments and discussions made around payday loans in the Chamber yesterday.
