PIP assessments

Help please
My husband has applied for PIP, his form has been filled in and sent back and we had a letter asking us to choose the 3 time slots for his home visit interview. We did this 2 weeks ago, as we had heard nothing about when he would get his visit he rang them yesterday. He was told they do not have a person available on the dates given and it could be quiet a while before he is assessed.
This means we have to survive even longer on only his sick pay (I am now looking for work after being stay at home mum)
Is there anyone I can complain to about his delay in being assessed?
Thanks

Are there any other benefits you are entitled to.

Just because hs has applied for pip, doesn't mean he will be awarded it
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Husband - if getting sick pay - cannot claim ESA, and PIP is already in the works.
Carers allowance can't be paid as there is no appropriate PIP/DLA in payment.

Income support for the OP on the grounds of caring responsibility - I'm unsure this is possible in the circumstances.

JSA - as I understand it, this may be possible.
It will be reduced by the SSP, but may be paid as a top-up.
I think JSA is probably it, along with council tax support/housing benefit - due to low income.

can u not make it too a medical centre,or are all pip assements home assesments
  • Thanks all,
He is getting SSP, we can not get housing benefit but we are getting tax credits.

He is too ill to get to an assessment centre.

Anyone know who I can complain to as they have told him they have highlighted his case but they have no solution at the moment.

    Thanks
  • Is there a set time frame for arranging a PIP home assessment. If there is have they gone past it?. If not can't see what grounds other than your personal individual circumstances you can complain about from what you've posted. Can you widen out the days and times your OH is available for his assessment?

Can appreciate your financial personal circumstances etc are very difficult and it can be very frustrating , but the DWP are a huge processing machine and your claim is 1 of millions.
  • I could not get to an assessment centre either and there is no box to tick to request a home visit however you can request a home visit under the any other info. This was what I done and as a consequence I was not ask to attended a medical. I am not saying this is the same for everyone, I had very good supporting evidence but if anyone feels that it is impossible for them to attend please state so on the questioner.
