Gaming capable laptop

I am currently looking for a laptop that is capable of playing the latest graphic games such as far cry 3.
I would like it to be touchscreen also.

I have been looking for a time & have found a laptop that seems to me will tick both boxes. Lenovo z500 touch selling @ £550 http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Lenovo_Z500_Touch_1357423.html

Can i get peoples opinons on if this is the right laptop fot me. Is there a better one you can recommend or can you find te same laptop for cheaper?

Touchscreen AND gaming capable certainly isn't cheap. Gaming laptops are always a compromise so expect short battery life and a lot of heat to be chucked out of the side while gaming. (My cat has learned the sound of my laptop fan and snuggles up to the vent whenever it's running)

Unless you're intending to game while travelling (which I used to do) most folk are better served with a desktop for gaming IMO.

That said, look at pcspecialist.co.uk they do some nice ones and give you many configuration options.

the 740m should be able to play far cry 3 in medium detail settings at that laptops resolution although only expect 1 - 1.30 hour battery life whilst playing if not plugged in to the mains
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

After 2 (or is it 3o'clock) have a look on Dell outlet
    http://outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/InventorySearch.aspx?brandId=7&c=uk&cs=ukdfh1&l=en&s=dfh
Click video option "512MB and higher" on the left then order on price.
  • So if i ditch the touchscreen facility will this give me a few more options?

Looking about it seems the cheapest laptops with graphics dedicated is ATI/AMD. Such as A6-A8-A10.
    Are these laptops any good?

cheap laptops and gaming dont really go together.

it really depends what you are expecting from them.

if you just want to be able to run the game, then most laptops with a dedicated gpu will do that.

if you want them to run well and on high settings, then most laptops will struggle

    What's your budget?
  • Ideally less than 500. The z500 touch is 550. Im willing to stretch to this amount
