Bus stop? Planning permission required?

A bus stop in our village has been removed from its original position (due to a new housing development) and today some workmen turned up to put it to the left of our exit onto the road.

ie, if you were to come out of our driveway the proposed position is immediately to the left.

This means we wont be able to have a line of sight to the brow of the hill 50 yards or so down the road.

Also, its not a new modern perspex shelter, its an old stone solid one so quite large and quite obstructive.

How do we go about objecting to this? We thought there might have been a planning permission requirement but blokes just turned up.

If they are starting to build it already, you've probably missed your window.

Not a bus stop but we had a Speeding sign planted right next to our front garden gate one day all of a sudden.

Went to work and nothing and then came home at 6.00 and it was right in front of the gate, spoke to neighbours and they knew nothing about it either.

If we go out of our gate and turn left we walk straight into it, its such an inconvenience as we park the car in front of the housee and now pushchairs cant go past as their is no room

You should write a complaint letter to your local council and say exactly that. Good chance it'll get their attention as they're interfering with accessibility of public areas.
