Hi don't know if im in the right place on here but I booked a weekend away and payed £50 deposit for care bond this is incase anything happens to accomadation while im in there. Then I look at my credit card statement 2 weeks later and they have taking the whole amount of the balance out of my credit card without informing me.Ive had no letter or email advising that the balance is due in which I would of paid paid with my debit card and not my credit card .I don't think its right in them taking the balance without my say so in which they've already done anyone got any advice on this as I will take it further if theres any wrong doing with this company. My holiday is not till the 27th of September

When were you told the cost of the holiday needed to be paid by?0

There's usually a T&C stating that if the holiday stars within a month of the booking date then they take the full amount.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
When did you expect to pay the balance ?
Booking within a month of arrival -full payment at time of booking is customary.
Don't really understand why it matters it was on a creditcard - just make a payment with your debit card before the next billing date and it's all square anyway.
I think you misunderstood the term "deposit" - the £50 was a security deposit against damage to the caravan or chalet -not a deposit on the booking .I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Actually, i've always found websites that advertise 'pay just £x deposit today' often don't mean deposit in the same sense as a tenancy agreement for example, but mean a pre-payment towards the holiday to secure the booking.
And if that's the case then yes op has every right to be angry that they've done this! The only problem being of course by the time she's fought it out with them then it will be likely the balance is due anyway.
Did they charge any fees for paying the remaining balance with CC? If so, i'd certainly recommend pushing for them to refund these.0
