I did it online and it was stopped in a day!
strange, as no way to do it online, that online link just tells you how to email them or write to them so they can send you a form to complete and then send back to them

but then you are not annoying them as they annoy you. post back in envelope without stamp so they end up paying

    And that's just childish.

Agreed. And doesn't 'annoy' the company who couldn't care less. All that happens is

    1) You're not stopping any further stuff from being delivered
    2) The person at the other end who opens it probably turns to their colleagues and goes "another tw*t has posted one back" before laughing at how lame it is and moving on.

well its also childish that they send people out to deliver the leaflets that cant read or are just ignorant to understand a 'NO leaflets' notice across the letter box flap they have to lift to push their junk through.

It's not childish, it's their job. Instead of letting such trivial things bother you, just bin them and get on with your life.

(or order from the leaflets and enjoy a delicious takeaway yumyum :D)

I have been delivering catalogues for a well known furniture store. It doesn't pay much but I do it as my day job pays a pittance and I need to keep a roof over my families heads..

Most people I met whilst delivering are nice and I stop for a chat, but there are a fair number of people out there with a major axe to grind. I'd therefore like to put people straight on a few things...

    1. Don't expect me to be psychic and know that you don't want a catalogue!

    2. Just because you told a store assistant 7 years ago that you didn't want a catalogue doesn't mean that I have been told.

    3. A "Save the Lifeboats" sticker does not tell me that you don't want a catalogue.

    4. If you don't want a catalogue don't rush out of your house and hurl it at me across a busy road.

    5. Just because I put a catalogue through your door doesn't make me a c*nt.

    6. I did not steal your gnome three weeks ago, nor put dog sh*t on your front lawn. I'm not responsible for the recession, neither.

    7. A "no salesmen" sign is not the same thing as a "no catalogues" sign.

    8. Martin Lewis is not going to sue me for delivering a catalogue to you and I doubt he's a personal friend of yours.

    9. Go ahead, call the police and tell them that I delivered a catalogue.

    I could go on...

Thanks for listening. Have a nice day!

    :)

That's great. Now tell us how we stop you delivering catalogues we don't want. IME, signs are simply ignored.

It is childish/ignorant if they plainly ignore 'no leaflet' notices. The takeaway i use never does door to door leaflet drops as they see it as a pointless exercise, but then he does noes not need too, as he always has long queues

Catalogues and leaflets don't really bother me. My paper recycling box is in the porch, so I usually just glance at it and throw it in the recycling box. Sometimes I think I should just put the box straight under the letterbox and let it drop straight in. The only ones I have said not to deliver anymore are Kleeneze, as they are just overpriced rubbish!

We don't even bother with the Telephone directory/Thomson local anymore, they just get recycled. I can find a phone number on the internet if I need to.

I do object to junk mail personally addressed to me and I don't seem to get these now since registering with the MPS. But in the past I have used the enclosed pre-paid envelope to post curry menus back to them!

Yes, shame on those people just trying to make a living.

How about not being such a cantakerous busy body and just put the leaflets in your bin and with the time saved maybe do something productive?

All fine and well saying you can put them in the bin/recycle. But what would be ideal would be if the companies didnt send them in the first place.

One in particular actually made me laugh. On the back of their junk mail they had put "together we can reduce paper consumption". Erm no "we" about it since I had no choice in the matter. I'd rather have the 3.3 million trees in the world that are cut down every year for the 550,000 tonnes of junk mail in the UK. Especially since a lack of trees leads to an increase in respitory problems for humans.

It may not harm the person themself, but the junk mail industry is harmful on the whole. I'm nowhere close to tree hugger mentality and even I can see that.
