Cancelling Sky Package Early

Hi,
Ive posted this in the digital TV page but i thought it might fit here too, basically im moving home, i was originally moving into a friends house for a month whilst i waited for my new property to be reference checked, he has the full sky package, multiroom and everything, this has now changed and im moving into a property where in my tenancy agree it states i am not allowed to do any work to the property. And the house already has a BT broadband connection installed.
The contract is just hitting the 6 month period on the 14th September and im more than willing to pay early termination fees however sky are refusing to allow me to terminate the contract despite not being allowed the product at a new property. My package is for sky tv, phone line and broadband. I have emailed the letting agency the an email stating that no work can be done to the property now also, and on top of that I email requesting for cancellation and have phoned 3 times. One of the calls worked out the cancellation fees at £174 for me.
Can you please provide any help with this at all?
Thanks

Look at reducing your package -eg BB lite not unlimited, basic channels only and recalculate the charges ......also there is no "work" needed to move the talk and BB to the new address -it uses the existing BT phone socket -so if you kept those services.....and took the TV down to the cheapest package your cancellation charges would be minimized for the six months left on your contract.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
