the cars a 2004 audi a3 2.0 fsi sport and it would be nice if a new battery could repair 90% of the faults0

if the seller claims to be private but has trade plates etc then go talk to local Trading Standards. HMRC might be very interested too.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

£1700 for a 2004 A3 from a seller with bad feedback on a previous vehicle sale and you are expecting it to be fault free?
He even mentioned the power steering sensor fault in the listing and I see no mention of a recent major service.
Alarms bells would have been ringing if it was me.

Yet another first time bleeter (sorry, poster) expecting us to sort out their issues.
Yes the guy is obviously a trader, his feedback shows vehicles!!! Yes he has trade plates in the window.
For goodness sake what made you think that this was not a trader selling something that probably was too expensive to repair to put on a forecourt?'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
I have opinions, you have opinions. All of our opinions are valid whether they are based on fact or feeling. Respect other peoples opinions, stop forcing your opinions on other people and the world will be a happier place.0 -
Wouldn't running on 3 cylinders be rather obvious?0

You messed up,the seller is clearly a trader, you only have to look at the feedback and see the trade plates in the picture.....but as he is a trader he has some responsibilities if the car is unroadworthy, unless he's selling it as spares or repair.0

Ah, sorry. I was just going by the thread title...
"new 2'nd hand car falsified mot car not road worthy"1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
VOSA will test ANY vehicle presented to one of their testing stations.
If they find anything they don't like, they will issue a Vehicle prohibition notice and you will need a trailer to remove it.
Will it get you your money back = NO
Will it cost you lots of money = Yes
This is your car, you bought it second hand caveat emptor Buyer beware.
The previous owner in a private sale has no responsibility to repair or maintain your car in any way shape or form.
This is money saving advice, if you want to throw good money after bad, the VOSA number is in the phone book.Be happy...;)0 -

who mentioned a price? 1 bad feedback and to buy a death trap that your family will be traveling in? trading standards are already on the case. This is getting took as far as it can possibly go.0 -
