I am wanting to transfer £6,000 on to a 0% deal on a c/c. Thing is i would not be able to get another c/c as i no longer work full time so what i want to do is get my partner (who does) to get the card then put my debt on it (obviously he agrees). Are you allowed to do this? I know my current card does something called a money transfer were you can get credit in the form of money put in the bank so i could get the money in the bank then transfer it across to the other person. Are you able to do this directly and cut out the middle man so to speak?

All you do is
1) Partner applies for credit card in their name and hopefully gets accepted for the needed limit or above
2) partner does BT (which is basically making a payment) to yours.

There would be no problems for you in doing this but had your partner asked for views on doing this, he would have been universally recommended not to do it.
See this post, and many others in similar vein

You need to ensure that partner applies for a credit card with a different issuer to your credit card to be able to do a transfer from one to the other.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Some issuers (eg: Santander) specify that BTs can only be done on accounts held by the main cardholder; but most issuers aren't too bothered. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
