I am struggling to get my head around how this can possibly work?

Are they going to take every report as gospel? ... If so ... it's an easy way to blacken a sellers name ... Or do they actually investigate reports?

    If I have time, I'll take a look. :)

  • To true Tojo Ralph I for one hope it works as I was stung for £100 so I wouldn't have minded forgoing the 50p search but the web site might be useful to some one.

I'd also like to know how it works. Like Tojo Ralph my concern would be how easy is it to act maliciously?

Last year I picked up a malicious bidder, he targetted me particularly used BIN on one of my items and then left me an immediate negative. I'd obviously annoyed someone at one point and he felt that was a way of getting back to me but I would be concerned that false reports could be placed on a site about users. Luckily my experience ended well, ebay agreed that the bidder was malicious and removed the negative, all the comments and NARUD the user.

Likewise on the unmoderated ebay newsgroups people often try to blacken a sellers name with some real horror stories. Sometimes it doesn't take much digging to see that the seller was in fact the inoccent one and the buyer was acting maliciously, however, a lot of times the damage has already been done. That's why so few user on the unmoderated boards will use their real identity. Some good sellers have had thier rating ruined by other people on the newsgroups playing around 'for a laugh'.
