Hello everybody!
I recently had difficulty with my credit card repayments and had to fill in a financial declaration. This week received a letter from a woman across country who has had correspondence from the same company WITH ALL MY FINANCIAL DETAILS ATTACHED, including personal details of address, telephone numbers, occupants, mortgage details etc in it.
What can I do to find out who else might have been sent copies of my forms?
Am feeling rather vulnerable in my own home
Any ideas would be gratefully received!

    You probably shouldn't feel vulnerable.

    But:

    1) Complain to the company, requesting an explanation, reassurance and compensation.

    2) If they offer less than £150 ask them to increase it.

    3) If they fail to increase it, refer your complaint to the FOS.
  • I was offered £75 plus reimbursement of my phone call on the spot, but the case would be closed...
So that was refused as I really want them to reassure me that no-one else has been sent this information, but was fobbed off somewhat.

They probably haven't sent it anywhere else.

It will be very difficult for them to confirm this beyond "probably" though.

I think the best outcome you can get is more money and making them grovel a bit more.
  • Ask them to double it and pay if off your card - that way you are both up!
So many glitches, so little time...
