Barclays Direct debit cut off

Has any other barclays customer had a letter saying to them that they had a time limit to get the money in on the day a direct debit was returned or am I dreaming it. I thought sure I'd received a letter in this matter but when I phoned Barclays this morning to query it because I had a returned DD yesterday but transferred money across straight away to cover it they said they had nothing in place like that. As soon as I noticed it was approx 2.50pm when I transferred the funds.
Am I just imagining I had this letter but I'm sure I must have seen something to remember it.

I understood with Barclays, that funds had to be in place at the end of the previous banking day. Some other banks, incl RBS Group and Lloyds TSB ans possibly others give you grace on the day of payment, perhaps you were confusing Barclays with another account??0

I think lilangel may be referring to this MSE article: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/banking/2013/06/payment-failed-on-payday-banks-to-give-customers-more-time-to-avoid-charges0
