Hi all....just about our on going saga with Arnold Clark Citroen in Aberdeen. We purchased a C8 and in the bargain we got parking sensors and carpet mats and the superguard.
Citroen offer FREE 7 days insurance to help with picking the car up BUT Arnold used this to register the car BEFORE it arrived in the UK to up their sales for May!
We were picking the car up on May 11th - got to the "look" round the car and noticed that the carpet mats were missing.....and that the Parking sensors weren't on the car and the superguard hadn't been done!!! Even though the salesman called us on Sat and said everything was ready for us!
We had already signed our Part ex to them so they then had to give us that as as hire car and eventually they agreed to insure it for us!
They really wanted us tot ake the car and book it in for the extras to be added but we refused......don't know how much of a fuss to create on this and to whom...I have emailed Citroen but no reply just yet!

You did the right thing Paul. Too many people would have seen the shiny new car and taken it there and then and then have to sort out the mistakes later. In my humble experience doing things this way with car dealers doesn't work out well - they seem to forget what they have promised.
You'll probably get a follow-up call or letter from Citroen about your buying experiences. Be nothing but brutally honest. Dealerships get bonuses rated on customer satisfaction and don't give them 10/10 just because you feel sorry for them. It's the salesmans ultimate responsibility and he's shirked it.The man without a signature.0 -
More evidence that it's not coincidental that Arnold Clark rhymes with shark. What goes around - comes around0

I had a very similar problem. There was a big scratch on the bumper and I was told the car would be ready etc.
Anyway surprise surprise the mats were missing the the scratch wasn't properly removed. On that occasion I took the car (after getting the mats) but only after having it in writing about getting the scratch removed properly with a time and date etc.
All is almost fine now, getting the leaking windscreen wash bottle sorted on Friday.
AC really needs to get it's act together!0
